About Me - Evan Daveikis

Who am I?

Evan Daveikis, of course!

I've been making games forever - I made 3d animations, then wanted to make them interactive, then I got into Unity.

Now I'm at Sheridan College studying Game Design. It's been really valuable for getting an insight into the professional side of game dev and getting to work on group projects.

Hobbies / Interests

  • Making games! Hopefully obvious enough, I've been making games with Unity and Blender since I was 12 and it brought me to Sheridan.
  • Cooking! I got into it early, I like experimenting and I enjoy being able to prep my own meals.
  • Working on cars! I only started back in ~2023, but since then I've come to love hammering rusty bolts for hours on end.
  • Microcontrollers! Alt controllers, adding tech to my car, making fun contraptions. Great mix of software and physical tinkering.

Things I've done

  • Sheridan Technomancy club - I'm the vice president; I make lectures teaching people about electrical theory and microcontrollers.
  • Skills Canada - I did it a bunch in high school, came 5th in programming at provincials (CRUD database with CLI in C#).
  • Volunteering - More than 500 hours logged cooking for schools and community events.
  • Teaching - I used to teach game design to kids back in high school!
