It's summer! I've been working (and looking for a second job), but I have lots of plans for personal projects over the summer.
The thing I'm most excited to tinker around with is my "new" car.
Last week I went and did the basic maintenance: all fluids, filters, lights, etc. Now it's time to have some fun with electronics:
Check the dedicated blog post (Mazda Part 1) for more details...
I've had a couple of pocket bikes kicking around in the garage since last year. $100 for both of them.
Both of them aren't running at the moment, but a carb clean, fresh gas and a bit of cursing should do the trick.
A silly idea of mine turned into a goofy project: make a motorized couch
I rebuilt the engine last year and got the cart nearly running. The engine is mounted, the brakes work, steering (nearly) works: the only difficulty is connecting the engine to the diff. The sprocket I got intersects with the rear axle (I measured 0 times and cut once).
When I get back to work, I'll need to fabricate or order a smaller sprocket (which will mess up the gear ratio but whatever), then hook up the steering and throttle cable.
Although I still weigh whether or not I should've gone into engineering, game design is my craft. I have a few things I will and may work on this summer:
I plan on adding more content to this website:
There's a lot I want to work on this summer: lots of playing around with electronics and some game dev on the side.
Unfortunately, bills have got to get paid. That's life, and I appreciate that I have lots to keep me occupied at the least.
I also get to spend a lot of time with a very lovely lady...
